This is a very special hammock – there is only one of these in existence and it’s made from recycled material (’cause we love the planet).

It’s fully quilted for your little beings’ ultimate comfort… AND it has a gorgeous fluffy lining for added comfort and warmth.

Finished with strong straps (funnily enough the straps from the original bag which was deconstructed to make this hammock!  this really is the creme de la creme of ferret hammocks.

This specific ferret hammock measures approx 46cm x 38cm (not including the straps) which is about 18″ x 15″ in old money. Or 0.25 x 0.21 fathoms for those Sea Otters amongst us.

Ferret Hammock | Pocket Style Bag | Reused Fabrics

So you like the look of my awesome ferret hammock for your squirms?

You aren’t alone!

This is a very special hammock – it is the only one of these in existence, and it could be yours!!

And better still it’s made from recycled material (’cause we love the planet). This started life as heavy cotton drawstring bag (it actually carried tea, coffee sugar and spoons and lived in the boot of my mum’s car for years). After it was no longer needed my dad gave it to me and it sat waiting to be transformed.

After carefully unpicking all seams and fully deconstructing the bag (waste not want not, and it’s easy to resew on the same seam allowance), it turned out that it was PERFECT in size to make a big hammock all on it’s own-some (with a lining of course!)

I paired it with some lovely soft fleece I was given (I can’t remember from whom I’m sorry!!)

But such lovely heavy cotton and soft fleece deserved more – so I used some of the insulation fabric which comes with HelloFresh food deliveries (wrapped around the cold storage items) and quilt the three layers together to make a perfectly soft and warm bed!!

Ferret Hammock – Finishing it off…

I finished it off with end loops for hanging which are the actual straps from the bag so you can’t say I don’t know how to match!!

This specific ferret hammock measures approx 46cm x 38cm (not including the straps) which is about 18″ x 15″ in old money. Or 0.25 x 0.21 fathoms for those Sea Otters amongst us.

It is made from 100%c Cotton outer, 100% PLA (Polylactic Acid Plastic – it’s friendlier than you think!) OR out of 100% PET plastic (it’s hard to get a definitive answer!!!). The inner fleece lining is 100% acrylic.

Wash at no more than 40℃, tumble dry only on a gentle heat and don’t iron it. Your fuzzies won’t thank you.

Don’t use bleach and don’t dry clean. Basically use your common sense!

Caveat: This is handmade. I am not a professional seamstress. There may be errors. There may be wonky seams, there may be tucks where there shouldn’t be and not where there should be. Buying this item means you have read this and agree that it will not be a perfect machine stitched masterpiece. It is NOT a toy.
