It’s countdown time to our second Mustelamania (pronounced mus-TELL-a-mania) and we’re buzzing! As ever, we’re putting the planet first while we celebrate all things ferret. Here’s how we’re keeping the jamboree as green as a smug lettuce, without skimping on the fun, the fuzz, or the snacks. 🐾♻️

What we’re doing behind the scenes

Mugs, not mugs.

Wherever possible we’ll use the community centre’s proper mugs instead of disposable cups. Fewer throwaways, more brew-fuelled joy.

FSC wooden cutlery and compostables.

We’ve chosen FSC-approved wooden cutlery and cardboard bowls/plates. We’ll compost what we can afterwards (help us by popping them in the right bin pretty please!).

Reuse beats single-use.

Last year’s foil trays have been washed and saved for round two, and we’re using lidded reusable boxes instead of cling film/kitchen foil wherever we can.

Clear recycling on site.

You’ll see separate, clearly labelled bins for recycling and general waste. If in doubt, give us a shout before you chuck.

Less landfill, more loop.

We’re reusing signage and stall kit, choosing paper/card where possible, and keeping packaging minimal. Your support makes this doable. Thank you!

How you can help on the day

• Bring a reusable mug and water bottle (label them so your neighbour’s brew doesn’t wander).
• Follow the bin signs – wooden cutlery, cardboard plates and clean paper can head to the right place instead of the wrong one.
• Car share or use public transport if you can.
• Bring a tote for any goodies from the One-Stop Ferret Shop. But don’t worry if you forget – you can buy one of ours with an awesome ferret based artwork on it!
• Take home what you bring for your ferts (and any ‘souvenirs’ they kindly leave).

What you can look forward to

• Ferret races and fun competitions
• Talks and demos on care, behaviour and health
• Meet and greet (yes, you can try a supervised ferret walk!)
• One-Stop Ferret Shop: toys, harnesses, treats, tees and mugs
• Family fun: face painting, Halloween costume and cage-decoration comps, and a colouring corner
